How many guests should I invite to my child’s birthday party?

Over the last 24 years, I have seen people invite as few as 5, and as many as 100 people to a child’s birthday party. The general rule of thumb is your child’s age, plus two. This is a manageable number of children for the parents……….and about as many as the child can ‘deal with’ in a social situation like this. This, of course, is a guideline…………not a ‘law’….. but it is a helpful tool for parents with very young children. Also, keep in mind that you should always invite more than you expect to show up…… you will usually get about a 60% turn out to any invitation.
